When I got up at 7:30am January 1st 2018, I knew I was going to hit the floor running and embrace the day. I had a really early night New Years Eve, to be honest I couldn’t be bothered spending all the money going to the same bars me and my friends usually go to. So instead me and my house mate Lee stayed in watching Clone Wars, and in bed by 11:30pm. What have I become? Has the mightiest disco gay really reached that point in his life?

2017 has been a really mixed year for me, it started with complete tragedy losing my best friend Gareth, something I really didn’t think I would ever be able to move on from. I’ve never had someone really close to me die before, so I really didn’t know how I would of coped after it happened. But I took the biggest tragedy and used it as a means to achieve my goals. I will forever miss my best friend, but we have to learn that life continues for those left behind.

Friends have been a big thing for me this year, and I am really blessed with everyone in my life. I’ve also learnt big lessons with friends as well, something I think will help me moving forward. I think after Gareth I really panicked, as well as dating loads of new people I was also “recruiting” new friends as well. I am so lucky I met some really nice people I know call friends.

If your lucky you will have a nice small core group of friends that will be there for you whatever happens, then you have other friends that take different roles in your life. Its a good thing that you have different groups, I have gay friends, geek friends, girl friends and work friends, and they don’t all have to be your best friends! and that’s ok.

I think this year I got frustrated with some of my new friends, it was completely selfish on my part. I just couldn’t understand why they didn’t want to “fit in” or come to the nights out with everyone, or want to talk constantly. Yes I’m that needy sometime. Instead of wanting friends to be something more, just enjoy the person that they are.

I’ve also distanced myself from some people this year, sometimes negativity can really affect you, so take my advice and just have positive people in your life.

My gym goals were amazing in 2017, I managed to shift a few stone, and for the first time in my lift I’ve actually started to build muscle and bulk up. I really have the best support when it comes to the gym from Matt my trainer. My diet has really improved, and I’ve learnt to cook new food dishes 🙂 I really wanted to lose 5 stone in 2017, but the results I got were amazing for me.

2018 goals are to build up my arms and shoulders, have killer legs and go on holiday wearing short shorts and vests. Bring it.

So what’s planned for 2018?

Holidays – Barcelona and Amsterdam.

Conventions – Bloody Night Con and Comic Con.

Concerts – Lady Gaga, Paloma Faith.

Goals – Learn to save money.

The Blog will continue as it always has, 2017 marked the first ever Vlog from myself, and more will be coming!

I think the one thing I haven’t spoke about is dating, and I know it’s something a lot of people are always interested in thanks to this blog. I think it’s better not to set goals for this. If it happens then I’m open to it, if it doesn’t? I’m in a really good place at the moment, lets leave it there.

Peter Capaldi regenerated into Jodie Whittaker this Christmas, but left some great words of advice to the next Doctor, something I really have took to. So this is my 2018 words to live by, but I have eaten a few pears this year so far, sorry I love them. But I think its something we can all relate to.

So here we are, it’s January and the reality hits that everything I wanted to do, I’ve got to actually do it. Easy to say 3 days into 2018 but I’ve been waiting for this year to happen, ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr lets ave it x.
